Montgolfier Brothers
The Montgolfier Brothers, Joseph and Étienne, were pioneers in the field of ballooning during the 18th century. They were fascinated by the idea of flight and began experimenting with hot air balloons. In 1782, they successfully launched their first balloon, which was made of paper and cloth, demonstrating that warm air could lift a lightweight structure into the sky.
Their most famous flight took place in 1783 when they launched a larger balloon that carried a sheep, a duck, and a rooster. This historic event marked the beginning of human flight and inspired future aviators, including Wright Brothers and Leonardo da Vinci, to explore the possibilities of air travel.
