Mona Hatoum
Mona Hatoum is a contemporary artist known for her thought-provoking installations and sculptures. Born in Beirut, Lebanon in 1952, she later moved to London due to the Lebanese Civil War. Her work often explores themes of displacement, identity, and the body, reflecting her experiences as a Palestinian woman.
Hatoum uses a variety of materials, including glass, metal, and video, to create pieces that challenge viewers' perceptions. Some of her notable works include “Home”, an installation that transforms everyday objects into unsettling forms, and “Light Sentence”, which features a cage-like structure illuminated by light.
