Mon Language
The Mon Language is a member of the Mon-Khmer branch of the Austroasiatic language family. It is primarily spoken by the Mon people, who reside mainly in parts of Myanmar and Thailand. The language has its own script, derived from the Brahmi script, and is known for its rich literary tradition.
Mon is considered an endangered language, with a declining number of speakers due to historical and social changes. Efforts are being made to preserve the language through education and cultural initiatives, as it plays a vital role in the identity of the Mon community.
