Mojahedin-e Khalq
The Mojahedin-e Khalq, also known as the People's Mujahedin of Iran (PMOI), is an Iranian political-militant organization founded in 1965. Initially established to oppose the Shah of Iran, the group later became known for its opposition to the Islamic Republic of Iran after the 1979 revolution.
The organization advocates for a democratic, secular Iran and has been involved in various forms of activism, including armed resistance. Over the years, it has faced significant controversy, including accusations of terrorism and cult-like practices, leading to its designation as a terrorist organization by some countries, though this status has changed in others.
