Moishe the Beadle
Moishe the Beadle is a character from Elie Wiesel's memoir, "Night." He is a poor, foreign Jew who lives in the town of Sighet and serves as a caretaker in the local synagogue. Moishe is known for his deep spirituality and his ability to connect with others, often sharing stories and teachings about faith.
When the Nazis begin to invade, Moishe is deported but manages to escape and return to Sighet. He tries to warn the townspeople about the impending danger, but they dismiss his warnings as madness. His character symbolizes the ignored warnings of the Holocaust and the consequences of indifference.
