Mnajdra Temples
The Mnajdra Temples are a group of prehistoric temples located on the southern coast of Malta. Dating back to around 3600-2500 BC, they are among the oldest free-standing structures in the world. The complex consists of three main temples, built using large limestone blocks, and features intricate carvings and altars.
These temples are part of the Megalithic Temples of Malta, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Mnajdra Temples are particularly notable for their alignment with the sun during the equinoxes and solstices, showcasing the advanced understanding of astronomy by the ancient builders.
