Mizushima Domain
The Mizushima Domain was a feudal domain in Japan during the Edo period, located in what is now part of Okayama Prefecture. It was established in 1600 and governed by the Mizushima clan, which was a branch of the larger Matsudaira clan. The domain was known for its agricultural production and strategic location along the Seto Inland Sea.
The Mizushima Domain was part of the Kibi Province and played a role in the regional politics of the time. It was dissolved during the Meiji Restoration in the late 19th century, as Japan transitioned from feudal rule to a modern state. The area has since developed into a significant industrial zone.
