Mixe Languages
Mixe languages are a group of indigenous languages spoken by the Mixe people in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. They belong to the Mixe-Zoque language family and are characterized by their complex tonal systems and rich morphological structures. The primary Mixe language is Mixe, but there are several dialects, each with unique features.
These languages are not only a means of communication but also a vital part of the Mixe culture and identity. Efforts are being made to preserve and promote the Mixe languages, as they face challenges from Spanish and other dominant languages in the region.
