Mission San Luis
Mission San Luis is a historic site located in Tallahassee, Florida. Founded in 1656, it was part of the Spanish Mission System aimed at converting Native Americans to Christianity and promoting European culture. The mission served as a center for the Apalachee people, providing them with agricultural training and religious education.
Today, Mission San Luis is a reconstructed site that showcases the life and culture of the Apalachee and the Spanish missionaries. Visitors can explore the buildings, including a church and a council house, and learn about the interactions between the two cultures during the 17th century.
