Mira Ceti
Mira Ceti, also known as Omicron Ceti, is a red giant star located in the constellation Cetus. It is one of the brightest stars in the night sky and is approximately 200 light-years away from Earth. Mira is notable for its variability, changing brightness over a period of about 332 days, which is why it is classified as a Mira variable star.
The name "Mira" comes from the Latin word for "wonderful," reflecting its striking appearance. As a red giant, Mira has expanded and cooled after exhausting the hydrogen in its core. This star is also surrounded by a nebula, which is formed from the material it has shed during its later stages of evolution.
