Minnesota Legislature
The Minnesota Legislature is the state’s law-making body, consisting of two chambers: the Minnesota House of Representatives and the Minnesota Senate. Together, they are responsible for creating, amending, and repealing state laws. The legislature meets annually, with sessions typically starting in January and lasting until May.
Members of the House serve two-year terms, while Senators serve four-year terms. The legislature also plays a crucial role in setting the state budget and addressing various issues, such as education, healthcare, and transportation. The Governor of Minnesota can sign or veto legislation passed by the legislature.
