Governor of Minnesota
The Governor of Minnesota is the head of the state government and is responsible for enforcing state laws, overseeing the executive branch, and managing the state's budget. The governor also has the power to sign or veto legislation passed by the Minnesota Legislature and can call special sessions when necessary.
Elected to a four-year term, the governor can serve a maximum of two consecutive terms. The current governor is part of the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party (DFL), which is affiliated with the national Democratic Party. The governor's office is located in the Minnesota State Capitol in Saint Paul.
