Minimum Security
Minimum security refers to a classification of correctional facilities that house inmates considered to pose a low risk to society. These facilities typically have fewer restrictions and less stringent security measures compared to medium or maximum security prisons. Inmates in minimum security are often allowed more freedom, such as participating in work programs or educational opportunities.
Inmates in minimum security facilities may have committed non-violent offenses and are often nearing the end of their sentences. The goal of these facilities is to prepare inmates for reintegration into society by providing them with skills and support, ultimately reducing recidivism rates.
