Miklós Horthy
Miklós Horthy was a Hungarian admiral and politician who served as the Regent of Hungary from 1920 to 1944. He played a significant role in Hungary's interwar period, promoting a conservative and nationalist agenda. Horthy's leadership was marked by efforts to restore Hungary's territorial integrity after World War I, which resulted in the Treaty of Trianon.
During his regency, Horthy aligned Hungary with the Axis powers during World War II. His government faced criticism for its anti-Semitic policies and collaboration with Nazi Germany. Horthy was eventually deposed in 1944, leading to the establishment of a more radical regime in Hungary.
