Michigan Legislature
The Michigan Legislature is the legislative body of the state of Michigan. It is a bicameral institution, meaning it has two separate chambers: the Michigan House of Representatives and the Michigan Senate. The House consists of 110 members, while the Senate has 38 members. Both chambers are responsible for creating and passing state laws, as well as approving the state budget.
Members of the Michigan Legislature are elected by the citizens of Michigan. The legislative session typically runs from January to December, during which lawmakers propose bills, hold hearings, and debate various issues affecting the state. The Governor of Michigan can also influence legislation through veto power.
