Michael L. Printz Award
The Michael L. Printz Award is an annual award that honors the best book written for teens, recognizing excellence in young adult literature. Established in 2000, it is named after Michael L. Printz, a high school librarian who was dedicated to promoting reading among young people.
The award is presented by the American Library Association (ALA) and is part of the ALA Youth Media Awards. Each year, a committee of librarians selects the winning title, along with several honor books, highlighting outstanding contributions to the genre.
