Mexican league
The Mexican League, officially known as the Liga MX, is the top professional football (soccer) division in Mexico. Established in 1943, it features 18 teams competing in a league format, with each team playing a total of 17 matches during the regular season. The league operates on a promotion and relegation system with the Ascenso MX, the second tier of Mexican football.
The season is divided into two tournaments: the Clausura and the Apertura, each culminating in playoffs known as the Liguilla. The league is known for its passionate fan base and has produced many talented players, contributing significantly to the popularity of football in Mexico and beyond.
