Meteor Crater
Meteor Crater, also known as Barringer Crater, is a well-preserved impact site located in Arizona, USA. It was formed about 50,000 years ago when a nickel-iron meteorite, approximately 150 feet wide, struck the Earth at high speed. The impact created a crater that is about 1,200 meters (4,000 feet) in diameter and 170 meters (560 feet) deep.
The site is a popular destination for tourists and scientists alike, providing valuable insights into the effects of meteorite impacts. It is one of the best-preserved craters on Earth and serves as a key reference point for studying other impact sites, including those on the Moon and Mars.
