Messier 63
Messier 63, also known as the Sunflower Galaxy, is a spiral galaxy located approximately 27 million light-years away in the constellation Canes Venatici. It was discovered by the astronomer Pierre Méchain in 1779 and later included in the Messier catalog by Charles Messier.
The galaxy has a prominent central bulge and well-defined spiral arms, which give it a sunflower-like appearance. Messier 63 is notable for its bright regions of star formation and contains a significant number of H II regions, where new stars are born. Its overall diameter is about 100,000 light-years.
