Messier 32
Messier 32, also known as NGC 221, is a dwarf elliptical galaxy located about 2.65 million light-years away in the constellation Andromeda. It is a satellite galaxy of the larger Andromeda Galaxy (M31) and is notable for its compact size and bright core.
Discovered by Guillaume Messier in 1774, Messier 32 has a diameter of approximately 6,500 light-years. It contains a population of older stars and lacks significant amounts of gas and dust, which limits new star formation. Its unique characteristics make it an interesting subject for astronomers studying galaxy evolution.
