Messier 2
Messier 2 is a globular cluster located in the constellation Aquarius. It is one of the largest and brightest globular clusters visible from Earth, containing around 150,000 stars. The cluster is approximately 37,000 light-years away and has an estimated age of about 13 billion years, making it one of the oldest known star clusters.
Discovered by Jean-Dominique Maraldi in 1746, Messier 2 was later included in the Messier catalog by Charles Messier in 1764. Its dense concentration of stars and its spherical shape make it a fascinating object for astronomers and stargazers alike.
