Merganser
The merganser is a type of duck known for its slender body and long, pointed bill. These birds are part of the family Anatidae and are commonly found in freshwater lakes and rivers. Mergansers are excellent divers, using their sharp bills to catch fish, which is their primary diet.
There are several species of mergansers, including the common merganser and the hooded merganser. They are often recognized by their distinctive plumage, with males typically displaying vibrant colors while females are more subdued. Mergansers are migratory birds, traveling to warmer regions during the winter months.
