Goosander
The Goosander is a large species of duck belonging to the family Anatidae. It is known for its elongated body, pointed bill, and striking plumage. Males typically have a green head, white body, and black back, while females are mostly brown with a distinctive reddish-brown head. Goosanders are often found in freshwater lakes and rivers across Europe, Asia, and North America.
These birds are excellent divers and primarily feed on fish, using their sharp bills to catch prey. During the breeding season, Goosanders nest in tree cavities or on the ground near water. They are social birds, often seen in flocks, especially during migration.
