Member of Knesset
A Member of Knesset (MK) is an elected official in the Knesset, which is the national legislature of Israel. The Knesset is responsible for making laws, overseeing the government, and representing the interests of the Israeli people. Each MK serves a four-year term, although elections can be called earlier.
Members of Knesset are elected through a proportional representation system, meaning that parties gain seats based on the percentage of votes they receive. This system allows for a diverse range of political parties and viewpoints to be represented in the Knesset, reflecting the varied opinions of the Israeli population.
