Melkor (Morgoth)
Melkor, later known as Morgoth, is a central figure in J.R.R. Tolkien's legendarium, particularly in The Silmarillion. He was the most powerful of the Valar, divine beings created by Eru Ilúvatar. Initially, Melkor sought to create and dominate, but his desire for power led him to rebellion against the other Valar and the corruption of the world.
Morgoth's actions resulted in great strife and suffering in Middle-earth. He is responsible for the creation of many dark creatures, including Orcs and Dragons. Ultimately, he was defeated in the War of Wrath and imprisoned in the Void, marking the end of his reign of terror.
