Medieval Lords
Medieval lords were powerful landowners during the Middle Ages in Europe. They managed large estates and were responsible for the land and the people living on it. Lords often held titles such as duke, earl, or baron, and they played a crucial role in the feudal system, which structured society around relationships derived from the holding of land in exchange for service.
Lords provided protection and governance to their vassals, who were lesser nobles or knights. In return, these vassals pledged loyalty and military service. This system helped maintain order and stability during a time when central authority was often weak.
