Maximiliano de Habsburgo
Maximiliano de Habsburgo, also known as Maximilian I of Mexico, was an Austrian archduke born on July 6, 1832. He was a member of the House of Habsburg and served as the Emperor of Mexico from 1864 until his execution in 1867. His reign was marked by political turmoil and conflict during the French Intervention in Mexico.
Maximiliano was appointed emperor with the support of Napoleon III of France, who aimed to establish a monarchy in Mexico. However, his rule faced strong opposition from republican forces led by Benito Juárez. Ultimately, Maximiliano was captured and executed, leading to the restoration of the Mexican Republic.
