Maximilian II
Maximilian II was the Holy Roman Emperor from 1564 until his death in 1576. He was born on March 31, 1527, in Vienna, Austria, and was a member of the Habsburg dynasty. Maximilian II is known for his efforts to promote religious tolerance during a time of significant conflict between Catholics and Protestants in Europe.
He was also a patron of the arts and sciences, supporting figures like the astronomer Tycho Brahe.
