Maxentius
Maxentius was a Roman Emperor who ruled from 306 to 312 AD. He was the son of the former Emperor Maximian and became a key figure during the turbulent period of the Tetrarchy, a system of rule established by Diocletian. Maxentius is best known for his conflict with Constantine the Great, which culminated in the famous Battle of the Milvian Bridge.
During his reign, Maxentius focused on consolidating power in Italy and North Africa. He is often remembered for his ambitious building projects in Rome, including the construction of the Basilica of Maxentius. His rule ended when he was defeated by Constantine, leading to the latter's rise as the sole ruler of the Roman Empire.
