Max Immelmann
Max Immelmann was a German fighter pilot during World War I, known for his innovative aerial tactics. Born on September 21, 1890, he became one of the first pilots to achieve fame for his combat skills, earning the nickname "The Eagle of Lille." Immelmann is credited with 15 aerial victories, making him one of the top aces of the war.
He is also remembered for the Immelmann turn, a maneuver that allows a pilot to quickly gain altitude while turning to engage an enemy aircraft. Tragically, Immelmann's career was cut short when he was killed in action on June 18, 1916, at the age of 25.
