Mateus 2
In Mateus 2, the chapter narrates the visit of the Magi to Bethlehem after the birth of Jesus. Guided by a star, they seek the newborn king and bring gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Their visit alarms King Herod, who feels threatened by the news of a rival king.
Herod, seeking to eliminate this threat, asks the Magi to report back after finding Jesus. However, warned in a dream, they return home by a different route. Subsequently, an angel instructs Joseph to flee to Egypt with Mary and Jesus to escape Herod's massacre of infants.
