Massachusetts Governor
The Governor of Massachusetts is the head of the executive branch of the state government. This position is responsible for implementing state laws, overseeing the state budget, and managing various state agencies. The governor also has the power to veto legislation and appoint officials, including judges.
Elected for a four-year term, the governor can serve multiple terms but is limited to two consecutive terms. The current governor, as of October 2023, is Maura Healey, who is the first woman and openly gay person to hold this office in Massachusetts.
