Mason Bees
Mason bees are solitary bees known for their efficient pollination. Unlike honeybees, they do not live in colonies but instead create individual nests. These bees are named for their unique nesting behavior, where they use mud to construct walls between their brood cells, much like a mason building with bricks.
Mason bees are typically active in early spring and are attracted to flowering plants. They are excellent pollinators, often visiting a variety of flowers to collect nectar and pollen. Their role in the ecosystem is vital, as they help in the reproduction of many plants, contributing to biodiversity and food production.
