Mary Todd Lincoln
Mary Todd Lincoln was the wife of Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States. Born on December 13, 1818, in Lexington, Kentucky, she came from a prominent family and received a good education. Mary married Abraham in 1842, and they had four children together, though only one survived to adulthood.
As First Lady during the American Civil War, Mary faced personal and public challenges, including the loss of her son, Willie Lincoln, in 1862. She was known for her strong personality and interest in politics, often advising her husband on various issues during his presidency.
