Mary Rose
The Mary Rose was a warship of the English navy, built in the 16th century. Launched in 1511, it served under King Henry VIII and played a significant role in naval battles against the French and Scottish fleets. The ship was known for its innovative design and was equipped with heavy artillery.
In 1545, the Mary Rose sank during a battle in the Solent, near the Isle of Wight. After centuries underwater, it was rediscovered in 1971 and raised in 1982. Today, the ship is preserved in the Mary Rose Museum in Portsmouth, showcasing artifacts and providing insights into Tudor naval history.
