Mary Lamb
Mary Lamb was an English writer born on December 3, 1764. She is best known for her collaboration with her brother, Charles Lamb, on the popular children's book, Tales from Shakespeare, which retells the plays of William Shakespeare in a way that is accessible to young readers. Mary also wrote essays and poetry, contributing to the literary scene of her time.
In addition to her literary work, Mary Lamb faced personal challenges, including mental health issues. She was involved in a tragic incident in 1796 when she accidentally killed her mother during a moment of instability. Despite these difficulties, she continued to write and support her brother throughout their lives.
