Mary II of England
Mary II of England was born on April 30, 1662, and became queen in 1689. She was the daughter of James II of England and Anne Hyde. Mary ruled alongside her husband, William III of England, after they jointly accepted the throne during the Glorious Revolution, which aimed to limit the powers of the monarchy and establish parliamentary sovereignty.
Mary's reign was marked by her Protestant faith and efforts to promote religious tolerance. She faced challenges, including political opposition and the ongoing conflict between Catholics and Protestants in England. Mary II died on December 28, 1694, leaving a significant legacy in British history.
