Martinmas
Martinmas, also known as St. Martin's Day, is celebrated on November 11th in honor of Saint Martin of Tours, a patron saint of the poor and soldiers. The day marks the end of the harvest season and is often associated with feasting and community gatherings.
Traditionally, people celebrate by enjoying roasted goose and other seasonal foods. In some regions, children participate in lantern processions, carrying handmade lanterns while singing songs. Martinmas is particularly popular in parts of Europe, including Germany and Austria, where various customs and festivities take place.
