Martin JRM Mars
The Martin JRM Mars is a large amphibious aircraft designed for firefighting and transport. Developed in the 1940s by the Martin Aircraft Company, it features a distinctive design with a high-wing and twin-engine configuration. The Mars can scoop water from lakes or oceans, making it effective for aerial firefighting.
With a wingspan of 200 feet, the Mars is one of the largest flying boats ever built. It was primarily used by the U.S. Navy and later adapted for civilian use. Although production ceased in the 1950s, some Mars aircraft remain in service today, primarily for firefighting operations.
