Martial Law
Martial Law is a temporary rule by military authorities over a specific area, usually enacted during times of emergency, such as war or civil unrest. Under martial law, normal civil rights may be suspended, and military personnel can enforce laws, maintain order, and ensure public safety. This means that the military can take control of the police functions and may impose curfews or restrictions on movement.
When Martial Law is declared, it often leads to significant changes in how a society operates. Citizens may face military checkpoints, and legal processes can be altered or bypassed. While it aims to restore stability, it can also raise concerns about human rights and the balance of power between the military and civilian government.
