Marsden Point Oil Refinery
The Marsden Point Oil Refinery is located in New Zealand, near the town of Ruakaka in Northland. It was established in 1964 and is the country's only oil refinery, processing crude oil into various petroleum products such as gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel. The facility plays a crucial role in supplying fuel to New Zealand's energy market.
The refinery has a capacity of around 135,000 barrels per day and is operated by Refining NZ. It also has a significant impact on the local economy, providing jobs and supporting related industries. In recent years, the refinery has faced challenges, including competition from imported fuels and changing energy demands.
