Marksburg Castle
Marksburg Castle is a well-preserved medieval fortress located in the Rhineland-Palatinate region of Germany. It sits on a hill overlooking the Rhine River and dates back to the 12th century. Unlike many other castles, Marksburg has never been destroyed, making it a valuable example of medieval architecture.
The castle is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site known as the Upper Middle Rhine Valley. Visitors can explore its towers, walls, and living quarters, which provide insight into the life of nobility during the Middle Ages. Marksburg also offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
