Markos Botsaris
Markos Botsaris was a prominent Greek military leader during the Greek War of Independence, which began in 1821. Born in 1788 on the island of Lefkada, he became known for his bravery and strategic skills in battles against the Ottoman Empire. Botsaris played a crucial role in several key confrontations, particularly in the region of Epirus.
He is best remembered for his leadership during the Battle of Karpenisi in 1823, where he led a successful defense against Ottoman forces.
