Mark the Evangelist is one of the four authors of the Gospels in the New Testament of the Bible. He is traditionally believed to be the writer of the Gospel of Mark, which is the second book of the New Testament and focuses on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.
Mark is often identified as a companion of Saint Peter, one of Jesus' apostles, and is thought to have recorded Peter's teachings. He is also considered the patron saint of notaries and is celebrated on April 25th in the Christian calendar.
