Marie-Adélaïde of Luxembourg
Marie-Adélaïde of Luxembourg was born on September 14, 1894, in Luxembourg City. She was the daughter of Grand Duke William IV of Luxembourg and Grand Duchess Marie-Anne. Marie-Adélaïde became the Grand Duchess of Luxembourg in 1912 after her father's abdication.
Her reign was marked by the challenges of World War I, during which she sought to maintain Luxembourg's neutrality. However, her pro-German stance led to controversy and criticism. In 1919, she abdicated in favor of her sister, Charlotte of Luxembourg, and spent the rest of her life in exile, passing away on January 24, 1924.
