Mariano Escobedo
Mariano Escobedo was a prominent Mexican general and politician born on December 15, 1826, in Monterrey, Nuevo León. He played a significant role in the Mexican Reform War and the French Intervention in Mexico, where he fought against foreign intervention and supported the establishment of a republican government.
Escobedo is best known for his leadership during the Battle of Querétaro in 1867, which led to the capture of the French-supported Emperor Maximilian I. After the war, he served as the governor of Nuevo León and was involved in various political activities until his death on September 22, 1902.
