Maria Luisa of Bulgaria
Maria Luisa of Bulgaria was a Bulgarian princess born on December 13, 1870. She was the daughter of Ferdinand I of Bulgaria, the first Tsar of modern Bulgaria, and Maria Louise of Bourbon, a Spanish noblewoman. Maria Luisa played a significant role in the royal family and was known for her charitable work and dedication to social causes.
In 1893, she married Prince Karl of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen, which strengthened ties between Bulgaria and Germany. Maria Luisa became the Queen Consort of Bulgaria when her husband ascended the throne in 1908. She was a prominent figure in Bulgarian society until her death on September 7, 1899.
