Maria Amélie of Austria was born on January 26, 1816, in Vienna, Austria. She was the daughter of Archduke Franz Karl of Austria and Princess Sophie of Bavaria. In 1831, she married Prince Maximilian of Bavaria, becoming the Duchess of Bavaria.
Maria Amélie was known for her charitable work and dedication to social causes. She played a significant role in supporting various institutions, including orphanages and hospitals. Her contributions to society were recognized during her lifetime, and she remained a respected figure in the Bavarian court until her death on May 24, 1851.
