Margret Rey
Margret Rey was a German-born American author and illustrator, best known for co-creating the beloved children's book character Curious George. Born on May 16, 1906, in Hamburg, Germany, she later moved to the United States, where she collaborated with her husband, H.A. Rey, to write and illustrate numerous children's books.
Together, the Reys published the first Curious George book in 1941, which quickly became a classic. Their charming stories and engaging illustrations have captivated generations of young readers, making Curious George a staple in children's literature. Margret Rey passed away on December 21, 1996.
