Margazhi
Margazhi is the ninth month in the Tamil calendar, typically falling between mid-December and mid-January. It is considered an auspicious time for spiritual activities and is marked by cooler weather in the southern regions of India. Many people engage in early morning rituals, including bhajans and pujas, to seek blessings and promote well-being.
During Margazhi, the famous Margazhi Thiruvizha is celebrated, featuring traditional music and dance performances. The month is also known for the practice of drawing colorful kolams (decorative patterns) at the entrance of homes, symbolizing prosperity and welcoming guests.
